Friends, I made a survey, please take it and reblog. I want a significant trans portion, but cis people are encouraged to take it as well.
Before you start, you have to know that some of the topics may be triggering for you (mainly violence), so proceed with caution.

I was going though it earlier and I really don’t want you to go though it if anything like homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, etc. triggers you. Or even h*tler triggers you. It’s been a while since I was going though it and I started to get really upset. Please be aware

not that my input really matters, but i don’t know much of lgbt history other than bits and pieces of stonewall, a little bit of the aids crisis, and the legalization of gay marriage; i’m an actual child and nobody here (kentucky) educates anyone/gets educated on it
how about instead of shaming people—especially young people—for not knowing our history, we provide them with credible resources?
here’s a long list of LGBT+ historical events worth googling and learning about. i’m not sure if all the dates and details are spot on, but, again, this is really just a guide for what to research on your own. to warn you, a lot of this history is ugly, including things like the conflation of pedophilia and LGBT+ people, genital mutilation, homophobia, transphobia, nazis, and wide scale persecution.
Free Resources:
an interactive timeline of LGBT+ world history
The 1950s and the Roots of LGBT Politics (American-centric)
Before Stonewall: The Making of a Gay and Lesbian Community (warning: this documentary was made in the 80s and is dated in a lot of respects as a result; it also features quotes from Allen Ginsberg, who we now know was a pedophile, but it’s still very informative in terms of history)
a brief history of the bisexual movement from the 1960s-early 2000s (American-centric)
“Here’s A History Of Bisexuality, From Ancient Egypt To Stonewall”
a brief timeline of trans history, beginning in the 1890s (European and American-centric)
“Gender Variance Around the World Over Time”
Some Purchasable Resources:
(most of these can be bought used online for pretty cheap and some can be found in libraries)
Before Stonewall: Activists for Gay and Lesbian Rights in Historical Context by Vern L Bullough (it’s a bit dated, but still informative)
A Little Gay History: Desire and Diversity Across the World by R. Parkinson
Sapphistries: A Global History of Love between Women (Intersections) by Leila J. Rupp
Gay Voices of the Harlem Renaissance (Blacks in the Diaspora) by A.B. Christa Schwarz
The Lavender Scare: The Cold War Persecution of Gays and Lesbians in the Federal Government by David K. Johnson
Queer Brown Voices: Personal Narratives of Latina/o LGBT Activism edited by Uriel Quesada, Letitia Gomez, and Salvador Vidal Ortiz
Transgender History: The Roots of Today’s Revolution by Susan Stryker
Asegi Stories: Cherokee Queer and Two-Spirit Memory by Qwo-Li Driskill
I don’t usually use Tumblr for political purposes, but this is so important to me.
The 8th amendment in Irish constitutional law means women have no access to abortion services. In any situation. Not if you’ve been raped. Not if you’re 12 years old. Not if very far along, you discover your baby has no chance of life after you give birth.
As it’s illegal to seek an abortion, there is also a huge, suffocating silence around it. This video is a friend of mine, reading one of the stories from the Facebook page ‘Women of the Eight’, where people anonymously tell their stories.
If you care, please reblog, or think about donating. Non-Irish US interests are pouring money into the anti-choice camp, funding all kinds of horrible campaigns. The national vote to repeal the 8th and allow access is on May 25th.

MY DUDES!
Check out this absolutely epic lyric video Fewjar, Carl and I did the last weeks!
My goodness. I never thought I’d actually be given a chance to work with them; they’re such a huge inspiration to me and it’s been an honor ;^;
AND YES THESE DUDES ARE FEW, JAR AND MOGIS ORIGINS 8D
I’m stuck with this constant warm feeling of bliss and excitement for 2 weeks now. I’m just so happy :’)
So this is for any closeted trans people, whether you’re non-binary, ftm, or mtf.
If you’re closeted and you want a haircut, but can’t show a picture of the haircut you want without outing yourself, I AM HERE.
I will, for absolutely no cost whatsoever, photoshop a picture that you give me to look like your biological gender, while still retaining the original hair of the person. All that I ask is that you reblog this post to spread the word. Message me the picture, and the gender you want it to look like, + any additional info.
Even if you don’t need/want this, I’d appreciate the signal boosts :)
